The history of Samauto begins with the story of a family, that of Raffaele Annoscia, who – in 1940 – founds in Bari Titano Sud, one of the first firms manufacturing storage batteries in Southern Italy. Even though Italy (and the whole world) is facing one of its hardest times, the Annoscia family rises from the ashes and brings its project along with courage and persistence, building a strong company, attentive to market’s evolution and needs.
From these more than strong foundations, in 1984, Antonio Annoscia – Raffaele’s son – and Pietro Salamina establish the Samauto company, turning the core business from production to sale of storage batteries for vehicles.
The motorcycle market
In the Nineties, Samauto enters the motorcycle market, a sector which was not particularly interesting at the time.
With the talent and expertise of another member of the family, Alessandro Annoscia, who is also an enthusiastic biker, and therefore well aware of a motorcycle lover’s needs – Samauto finds a new purpose: to be present as the first storage battery system on all made in Italy motorbikes.
That is how a new brand is born: Unibat, now present in Europe alongside prestigious brands such as Benelli, Beta, Ducati, Carraro.
Moreover, Samauto is Magneti Marelli BK - FIAT Group’s brand worldwide licensee.
The new headquarters is spread over an area of about 12,500 square meters and with a warehouse of 5,000 square meters divided into CAR AND MOTORCYCLE sectors.
The new computerized network manages all administrative/accounting, marketing and warehouse operations in an organic and efficient way (integrated management).
